In 2008, Tom Offermann and Michele Reeves left their comfortable life in Portland, Oregon and spent 14 months on sabbatical in Argentina with their two children Zoe and Zelda, ages “young enough not to hate us for taking them away from their friends” and “old enough to be able to travel internationally.”

We are back in Portland now, doing new things, living in new parts of the city, and all of us are much better off for having experienced such a great trip together as a family.
